“Alked? Can’t I and our son come with you?” I asked my husband when I saw that he was preparing his and our son’s luggage. He didn’t ignore me, just these past few days he ignored me and seemed to treat me coldly. “Alked?” I called his name again and approached him. I helped her arrange their clothes. “Alked, shall I also arrange my clothes?” I asked him. “Alked?”

“You will stay here, I’ll be back.” The last words came out of my husband’s mouth and they left with our son who was also looking sadly at me.

I thought he would get back to me right away but it took a few weeks and if I heard the sound of a speedboat or a ship, I was still excited to go out to Inang Yanel’s house. I thought my husband had arrived and was going to take me back to Manila.

I miss them so much. I’m not used to my father and son being away from me. I miss Recyn too.
