Summary
Jax Galbraith had been assigned to the Punishers Division with the task of collecting each target’s Regret Points and causing them to suffer. After witnessing the interactions in the Intergalactic Era, Jax felt that they were all worthy of suffering.
Folks from the Punishers Division were ruthless in their quest to collect Regret Points. However, things took a different turn when Jax met his latest target because he hesitated to draw his sword. This external influence would go all out to stop Jax from resorting to violence.
Little did Jax and the System know that this influence would be similar to Jax’s previous targets?

“Sometimes I pity you. You try your best to get to the top, and yet you’re still the same pathetic man you are.”
Xavier Shrimp looked at the pale Lester Sin. “You’ve been married for so long, but Willie hasn’t even talked to you, has he? Honestly, you’re pathetic. You try to make him look at you, and he doesn’t care.” Lester wobbled, and Xavier crossed his arms, smiling. “You’re just like your slut of a mother. Nothing but a b*tch for men to toy with.”
“Transfer successful. You are now Lester Sin, dear host.”
Jax Galbraith was trying to shake the dizziness out of his head, and he heard Xavier’s sh*t talk. When he snapped out of it, he asked his system, “What did this one do in his past life?”
The System said, “Slapped Xavier out of rage and was seen by Wilbur, who came just in time.”
“I see,” said Jax. “Can’t be as rash as he did.”
The System agreed, “Yes, I think you should—Where the f*ck did you get that knife?“
A dagger embedded with gemstones appeared in Jax’s hand all of a sudden, and he plunged it into Xavier’s ribs.
The System was in awe and shock, but that wasn’t the end of it. Jax spun the dagger around and gouged out a part of Xavier’s flesh.
Xavier’s eyes bulged as if he was throttled. To him, Lester was nothing less than a demon.
“Tsk.” Jax frowned after he pulled the dagger out. He was not happy, then he looked at Xavier, who was staggering backward. “Sorry. Should’ve gone for your heart, so,” he said, “Let me stab you again.”
“Y-You…” Blood trickled from Xavier’s wound, which he desperately tried to cover. His body was shivering and trembling from pain and fear.
The tables were turned, but before Lester could get near, Xavier fell with a thud.
Jax twirled the dagger and tucked his right arm behind his back, then he extended his left hand. Like a gentleman, he said, “Need any help, sir?”
That was the last straw. No longer able to hold up, Xavier’s eyes rolled into the back of his eye sockets, and he fell unconscious.
Lester took another step forward, and the horrified system said, “You can’t be serious about killing him, can you?”
Jax gave the System a look of surprise. “Do I look like a demon to you?”
“No, of course not.”
Now’s not the time for banter. Wilbur is coming soon.
“What will you do now, host?”
“I will…” Jax drawled. Just when the System thought he would come up with a good plan, Jax said, “Run.”
Well, that’s a surprise. As if. The System thought Jax would stab Wilbur Turnbull as well. But he was running?
Jax ran into a storeroom and hid in an old closet. Light flowed into the closet through the crack in the door, and the System noticed Jax eating butter cookies he produced out of nowhere. Then he sighed.
The System held his throbbing forehead. “He’s found the injured Xavier. Wilbur, that is.”
Jax tossed another cookie into his mouth and munched on it. “Hope he likes my surprise. Did it nonchalantly, so it might not be good.” That was a lie. He had planned for it well, but he didn’t tell the System.
Wilbur was surprised. Shocked, even. It was the birthday of his family’s patriarch, and all of Empirean’s rich and powerful came to attend the party.
Fifteen minutes ago, Xavier told him he would be waiting in the garden in the backyard. After much effort, Wilbur managed to leave the party to meet his lover only to be met with this grisly scene.
The event was still going on. Just when Lamson Turnbull—the patriarch—was about to announce the start of the party, a servant came running, a look of horror etched on his face.
“Master Wilbur’s hurt! He’s covered in blood!”
The Turnbulls’ faces fell, and the guests broke into discussion.
Lamson and his bodyguards quickly made their way to the garden. Out of curiosity, the guests went along as well. Not too long after they left the hall, they ran into Wilbur, who was holding Xavier in his arms. “Xavier’s hurt, Dad. Quick, get someone to help him!”
The guests were surprised to find that Xavier was the one who was hurt, not Wilbur. They noticed Wilbur holding Xavier in his arms, and he was millimeters away from Xavier. The guests exchanged looks and looked among themselves.
They were looking for Ethan Adler, general of the First Troop. He was Xavier’s fiancé. Xavier and Ethan grew up together. They were childhood friends. Yet now that Wilbur showed this much concern for Xavier, the guests knew there must be more behind this story.
The very general everyone was looking for was standing before a storeroom. His eyes were dark and devoid of emotion, a frown furrowing his brows. Ten minutes ago, he felt a surge of mental energy coming from this place. As time went on, that energy grew and started seeping into his Awakened Body. He followed the trace of the energy and came to this place. When he pulled the closet open, a young, handsome lad came rolling out. He was curled up and shivering, his forehead covered in sweat. It looked like he was in a lot of pain.
Ethan looked at the lad and recognized who he was. Lester, the partner of Wilbur Turnbull. Noticing the surge of mental energy hanging in the air, Ethan picked him up without worrying that Lester was married.
When he turned around, his men flocked around him. “General, what are you—”
Ethan didn’t explain. He just told his men to drive the levicraft. “He’s about to Awaken.”
…
The System was surprised that Jax fell unconscious all of a sudden. One minute he was munching on his snack and complaining that it was hot, and the next, his head lolled, and he fell unconscious.
